Your worlds stay in your browser. PUGXEL currently has no accounts, game uploads, analytics or advertising. This notice covers pugxel.com and play.pugxel.com.
Who is responsible?
The data controller is Johannes Wegemann, 6 Brandon Park, Saint Johnston, Lifford, F93 Y861, Republic of Ireland. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
Visiting the website
The landing page is static. It does not set cookies, save browser preferences or load analytics, advertising scripts or tracking pixels. The game and its Three.js library are served from play.pugxel.com; loading the game does not require a third-party CDN.
Your browser must send technical request information to the web server to receive pages and game files. This includes your IP address, the requested resource and browser request headers; request time and response information may also be processed. This information is used to deliver the site, keep it working and protect it against abuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a functioning and secure website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Providing the request information is technically necessary to load the site; no account or additional personal details are required.
The game application itself does not create access logs. Server or infrastructure logging is a separate matter. If hosting or security logs are enabled, they must be kept only for the period necessary to diagnose faults, investigate security incidents or meet applicable legal requirements. The relevant issue, its resolution and any continuing legal obligation determine that period.
Game saves and browser storage
On play.pugxel.com, IndexedDB stores worlds and your custom block and texture library in the local database named sick-seven. Local storage remembers the active world (sick-seven-active-world), view distance (sick-seven-view-distance) and whether Dexter is enabled (pugxel-dexter-enabled).
This storage supports the game and the choices you make while playing. It is not used to identify you across websites, create advertising profiles or measure visits. Worlds and custom textures are not uploaded to us.
Saved data remains in that browser until you remove it, delete the relevant world or library entries, or the browser clears or evicts it. You can remove the site’s stored data through your browser’s privacy or site settings. Doing so may permanently remove your worlds and custom blocks: export anything you want to keep first. The operator cannot retrieve or delete a local save remotely.
Importing a world, block pack or image reads the file locally after you choose it. Exporting creates a file for you to save; it does not publish it. If you later share an exported file yourself, anyone receiving it can read the content included in that file. Avoid putting personal information into world names or imported textures.
Controls, gamepads and optional VR
Keyboard, mouse, touch and connected gamepad input is used in your browser to control the game. If you start a supported WebXR session, your browser provides the position, orientation and controller input needed for that session. PUGXEL processes this input locally for gameplay and does not send it to the operator. Browser or device permission prompts and settings govern access to these optional capabilities.
Emailing us
Email links open your chosen mail application. If you contact us, we receive your address, message and any information or attachments you choose to include. Mail services handle delivery as part of email communication. We use your message to answer the enquiry and resolve the issue, relying on our legitimate interest in handling correspondence under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You do not have to email us to play.
Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle the request and any related dispute or legal obligation. Please avoid sending sensitive information or entire game files unless they are needed to explain your issue.
Who receives information?
Local game content is not sent to the operator. Technical website request data is processed by the systems that deliver and secure the website. Email correspondence is handled by the operator and the mail services involved in delivery. We do not sell your data or disclose local game content to advertising or analytics services. Information may be disclosed where legally required, or where necessary and lawful to investigate abuse or protect legal rights.
Advertising: currently inactive
There is currently no Google AdSense integration, advertising cookie, advertising tracker or Google advertising data processing on these pages. Any future advertising rollout will require an updated notice explaining the actual providers, purposes, data, retention and transfers. Before activation, we will implement the required consent controls, including a suitable Google-certified consent management platform where required, and obtain consent before any processing that requires it. A future plan to add ads does not itself activate them.
Children and data minimisation
Playing does not require a name, date of birth, email address or account. We do not build player profiles or ask children to provide personal information to play. Children should avoid including personal details in messages or files they choose to share. If you believe a child has sent unnecessary personal information to us, contact us so that we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Your rights
Where the GDPR applies and its conditions are met, you can request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You can object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Contact [email protected] to exercise your rights. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity and locate the relevant information. We cannot identify or retrieve worlds stored only on your device. PUGXEL does not use personal data for profiling or automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
You may lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority, including the authority where you live or work.
